Guy Gentile Born in Mt. Vernon, New York, Guy, and his sister grew up in the type of idyllic, family-oriented neighborhood where kids rode their bikes outside and parents yelled from the porch for them to come in for dinner. Guy’s parents and family, immigrants from the beautiful Campania region of Italy, all had a penchant for entrepreneurship, owning businesses in landscaping, construction, and restaurants between them. Guy harbored an innate sense for business and strategy since childhood, starting his first business venture at age 11, when he acquired his own newspaper route for $200.00. Seeing that the route only had 50 deliveries, the young mogul-in-the-making went door to door along his route with a sales pitch and a vision.

Within the first month he tripled subscribers to 150 deliveries, earned back his initial investment, and thanks to a surge of tips for excellent service, quadrupled his revenue. It is no surprise he grew to be the business maven he is today. It is from his father and uncles that Guy Gentile inherited his entrepreneurial tendency, and his exemplary work ethic.

Their example encouraged him to always push to do better and to prove himself. As a teenager, he developed a “rule of 3” ensuring that he always had three income sources at any time, a philosophy he still adheres to. In addition to his paper route he would hold jobs at the local supermarket and several restaurants, and in addition, had a lawn mowing service throughout high school.
At 15, Guy set a target on Donald Trump, determined to one day be as successful as the real estate tycoon. Realizing that the hours he was putting into work were not sustainable Guy set to a plan to eventually get out of the rat race and establish passive income, taking a page out of Trump’s book and looking to real estate. He devised a plan to generate income via multi-family homes, saving all of his money for five years to eventually buy his first income property. Since then he has consistently been involved in real estate.

Enamored with the heroes of the community – soldiers, firemen, and police officers – Guy pursued a degree in criminal justice in college and enlisted in the U.S. Army. However, as the 21-year old waited to be called to serve, he began to blog about day trading, a subject he had become intrigued with after reading the classic “Reminiscences of a Stock Operator” by Edwin Lefѐvre.

Within six weeks his blog evolved into a successful day trading website with paying subscribers and became his first business, Daytrader Pro in 1998. Eager to capitalize on this success Guy indefinitely suspended his military plans to pursue a career in financial technology and services entrepreneurship.
Later that year, Guy’s business acumen enabled him to establish Speedtrader.com, a day trading brokerage which provided direct access trading software and online trading platforms to investors and active day traders who needed more than just a typical online broker – one of the first businesses of its kind. And at only 24, Guy became one of the youngest persons to have founded a registered broker-dealer in America.

18 years later, the firm remains a leading online day trading platform, ranked among the best online brokerages by Barron’s four years in a row, and in 2010 rated one of the fastest-growing private companies in America by Inc. Magazine.

Guy’s keen strategic insight and mounting trading knowledge have allowed him to go from strength to strength in his business endeavors. Since Speedtrader he has launched numerous other financial businesses including numerous online financial and trading education platforms and the high-frequency trading firm GBox Trading.

Eager to broaden his range Guy Gentile ventured into a variety of industries throughout his business endeavors. In 2005 Guy ventured into the music business opening R&B and Reggae label Muziq Records, which he eventually sold. He also, owned popular restaurants in two countries – Pizzeria Italiana in New York, and Sur Club Sushi in Nassau, Bahamas. In 2011, Guy launched his Bahamas-based broker/dealer Suretrader.com

SureTrader is one of the largest and highest-profile platforms for day trading, with thousands of traders relying on it every day.

As Guy accumulated nearly two decades of trading successes, he also preserved his first passion for community and public service, spending much of his time volunteering for worthy causes especially those related to first responders. Guy has previously held the ranks of Communication Services Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Firefighter, Fire Police Officer in the Putnam Valley Fire Department and Chief of Staff, Senior Advisor & Special Deputy to Putnam County Sheriff from 2012-2017.

In his spare time, he loves to travel. Already splitting his time between Puerto Rico and The Bahamas he has traveled extensively around North America, The Caribbean, Europe, and Asia. An avid photographer, Guy Gentile enjoys capturing his travels on film and photographing candid moments and life in action.
